The key is the half with a lead time — it has to be made, shipped and sitting in a drawer in your house before any of this works — so it is the half worth sorting out first. What it needs, and what it can enforce
An iPhone on iOS 17 or later, or an Android phone on Android 12 or later. The Bluetooth Spark needs nothing more. The cheaper NFC Spark also needs a phone with an NFC reader, which many budget Android handsets don’t have — the buy page checks yours. Either way, you need a free account and an internet connection once, to pair.
iOS
iOS 17.0 or later
Blocking runs on Apple's official Screen Time APIs. The operating system hides the app; Spark never reaches inside another app, and never sees what you do in one.
iOS does not let Spark stop its own deletion, so deleting Spark ends a session on iPhone. Sign back in and your modes return — friction rather than a wall.
Android
Android 12.0 or later
Same blocking, same free app, and one thing iOS doesn't offer: Strict mode. With it on, Spark is harder to uninstall or switch off while a session runs, and the emergency unlocks are hidden.
It is friction, not a wall: Safe Mode or turning off Spark's Accessibility permission gets past it, and Settings itself can't be blocked. With Strict mode off you can uninstall; sign back in and your modes return.
The difference between those two cards is real, and we document it rather than implying the platforms are identical. Enforcement runs on your phone through each operating system’s own APIs, so the ceiling is set by Apple and Google, not by us. Free is the app, not a trial of it
There is no premium tier and no subscription behind any of this. The business is a small physical object, sold once.
- Modes, schedules, per-app limits, streaks and Insights are all in the free app. Your first lock needs a paired Spark: sign in and pair it once, online. After that, locking never needs the key, Bluetooth or a network.
- Locking is free in the other sense too: one tap on Lock now, or a schedule, and it works with Bluetooth switched off and the key three rooms away.
- What you do inside your apps never leaves your phone. Once you’re signed in, your modes, schedules, limits and session history sync so a new phone can restore them, and the app checks in with our server for settings and updates.
- The key is a one-time purchase: the Bluetooth Spark from ₹1,099, the NFC Spark from ₹999 — bought once, not rented.
For a dead battery or a key left in the wrong city, the app has five emergency unlocks— five for life. They don’t refill, and Strict mode switches them off, so they rescue you without quietly becoming your normal way in. The full breakdown of what a key costs, including volume pricing, is on pricing.

Pair your Spark once, signed in and online, and from then on locking never needs the key, Bluetooth or a network. Unlocking is the part that needs the hardware — held against your phone — and that is the part with a price on it.
