The app is free. The key is what you buy.
Spark blocks distracting apps for nothing — no account, no subscription, and one tap to lock. The only thing that costs money is the Bluetooth key that unlocks them again, and you buy that once.
It is not in the app stores yet
Spark has not shipped. When the two listings go live, the official badges land right here — and not a moment before.
The official App Store and Google Play badges, pointing at the real listings. Left empty on purpose: a store badge wired to a placeholder URL 404s in front of the one visitor who was ready to install, and it is the first link a store reviewer clicks. Fill this in with the live listing URLs, nothing sooner.
The key is the half with a lead time, so it is the half worth sorting out first — it has to be manufactured, shipped and sitting in a drawer in your house before any of this works. What it needs, and what it can enforce
Any phone with Bluetooth, which in practice means all of them — no NFC radio required, which matters when most phones under ₹20,000 in India do not have one.
iOS
iOS 17.0 or later
Blocking runs on Apple's official Screen Time APIs. The operating system hides the app; Spark never reaches inside another app, and never sees what you do in one.
iOS does not let any app prevent its own removal, so deleting Spark ends a session on iPhone. It costs you your modes, schedules and history, which do not come back — friction rather than a wall.
Android
Android 12.0 or later
Same blocking, same free app, and one thing iOS cannot offer: strict mode. With it on, Spark cannot be uninstalled and the settings route is closed for as long as a session is running.
With strict mode off, Android behaves like iOS — you can uninstall, and you lose your setup doing it. The choice is yours to make before you lock, not during.
The difference between those two cards is real, and we document it rather than implying the platforms are identical. Enforcement runs on your phone through each operating system’s own APIs, so the ceiling is set by Apple and Google, not by us. Free is the app, not a trial of it
There is no premium tier waiting to appear a fortnight in, and no subscription behind any of this. The business is a small physical object, sold once.
- Blocking, modes and schedules are free, with no account and no sign-up — install it and you can lock the same afternoon.
- Locking is always free in the other sense too: one tap, instant, and it works with Bluetooth switched off and the key three rooms away.
- Nothing about which apps you block, or when, leaves the device. There is no usage data to collect because we never take any.
- The Bluetooth key is a one-time purchase from ₹999 + GST — bought once, not rented.
A dead battery or a key left in the wrong city must never mean a phone you cannot use, so the app ships with a capped number of emergency unlocks — enough to rescue you, deliberately few enough that they cannot quietly become your normal way in.
