6 AM Lock-in

Most mornings are lost in the first ten minutes: the phone is on the pillow, the alarm is on the phone, and by the time you put it down the day has already been decided by someone else's feed.

The Lock-in moves that first hour back to you. It runs live every morning at six. Everyone locks their phone with the Spark key while the host is still saying good morning, and for the next forty-five minutes the room is people doing their own work, quietly, together.

How it runs

Forty-five minutes, three parts

It starts the same way every morning: everyone locks their phone with the Spark key.

  1. 01

    0–10 min

    Guided meditation

The host opens and everyone locks their phone with the Spark key before anything else happens. Then ten minutes of guided breathing and attention, so the work that follows starts from a settled head rather than from the notifications you slept through.

  2. 02

    10–40 min

    Silent work, cameras on

Thirty minutes of whatever you said you would do — a chapter, a proposal, a practice set, a run. Cameras stay on and microphones stay off. Nobody talks and nobody checks anything; the only way back into your apps is the key across the room.

  3. 03

    40–45 min

    Share what got done

One line each on what you finished. Not a report and not a performance — just the sound of other people who also got up and did the thing, which is most of the reason this works.

Who it's for

Made for people who…

  • Students before college or coaching

The one hour of the day nobody has claimed yet. A chapter done before 7 AM is a chapter that does not need doing at midnight.

  • People building something on the side

The project that never gets time because the day job gets the best hours. Thirty silent minutes, every day, adds up fast.

  • Anyone whose day starts on the phone

If the first thing you touch is the screen, this gives you a reason to touch the key instead — and people who will notice if you don't show.

Before you join

What you need

  • Your Spark key, somewhere you have to get up to reach
  • The Spark app, paired with your key
  • One task you can make progress on in thirty minutes
  • A laptop or second device for the video call
  • Water. The kettle can wait until seven.

In the room

The rules

  1. Lock before the meditation starts, not after.
  2. Cameras on, microphones off during the work block.
  3. No unlocking until the session ends — that is what the key is for.
  4. Share one line. Nobody grades it.

Questions

About the 6 AM Lock-in

Is it recorded?

No. The Lock-in is live only — being there, at six, with everyone else, is the point. The 9 PM Wind-down is the recorded one.

Do I have to have my camera on?

During the silent work block, yes: seeing other people working is what keeps the room honest. Nobody watches anybody closely, and microphones stay off.

What if I miss a morning?

Nothing happens. There is no streak on this page and nothing is counted except the hours you chose to lock. Tomorrow there is another one at six.
